Privacy Policy & Parental Consent Notice

MathTab is operated by MathLab Institute Pvt. Ltd. This Privacy Policy is aligned with our Parent/Legal Guardian Consent Agreement for minor student access. It explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how consent is captured, and how records are maintained.

1. Scope and intended users

MathTab is designed for school use by students, including minors. Access is provided through schools that have a valid platform arrangement with MathLab Institute Pvt. Ltd. Student use is intended for academic purposes only.

2. Parent/legal guardian consent requirement

For minor students, parent or legal guardian consent is required before registration and platform use. By completing required fields and accepting the consent prompt, the parent/legal guardian confirms they have authority to act on behalf of the student and accept the governing terms.

3. Information we collect

We may collect and process the following categories of data:

  • Student identity data: name, class/section, school details, and related enrollment identifiers.
  • Parent/guardian data: name, phone number, email, address, and confirmation of guardian authority where required.
  • Account and access data: username, password setup metadata, login status, and account control information.
  • Learning and usage data: chapter/topic progress, quiz performance, feature usage, timestamps, and educational analytics needed to operate and improve the service.
  • Payment and subscription data: plan purchase and transaction metadata processed through authorized payment gateways; full card details are not stored on our servers.
  • Electronic consent logs: date/time of acceptance, and related digital identifiers tied to "I Accept" execution.

4. How we use information

  • To create and manage student access for educational delivery.
  • To provide supervised classroom learning features and progress tracking.
  • To process subscriptions, billing workflows, and transaction confirmations.
  • To maintain security, prevent misuse, and enforce platform terms.
  • To generate performance and product analytics for service improvement.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including evidentiary and audit requirements under applicable law.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell personal information. We may share data only when necessary:

  • With service providers: hosting, support, analytics, and payment providers operating under contractual safeguards.
  • For legal/safety reasons: where required by law, legal process, or to protect users, schools, and platform integrity.
  • With consent: where explicit authorization is provided for specific disclosures.

6. Electronic acceptance and legal validity

Clicking "I Accept" after completing required fields constitutes electronic acceptance of consent terms by the parent/legal guardian and is treated as a valid electronic signature/execution under applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Electronic acceptance is treated as binding and enforceable. System-generated logs and electronic records may be retained as admissible evidence of acceptance and execution.

7. Record retention

We retain consent records, system logs, and educational/account records for operational, legal, evidentiary, and compliance needs. Retention periods may vary based on statutory requirements and legitimate business purposes.

8. Security safeguards

We implement reasonable technical and organizational controls to protect data, including secure transport, access controls, and monitoring. While we apply safeguards, no digital system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Parent/guardian rights and responsibilities

  • To review and understand the governing terms before acceptance.
  • To ensure submitted information is accurate and up to date.
  • To contact us for correction requests or data-related queries where legally applicable.
  • To acknowledge that consent given through electronic acceptance is final and binding for student access purposes, subject to applicable law.

10. Governing law

This policy and related consent mechanisms are governed by the laws of India and applicable provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules framed thereunder.
